On the morning of February 17th, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended a symposium on private enterprises in Beijing and delivered an important speech. He emphasized that the basic principles and policies of the Party and the state for the development of the private economy have been incorporated into the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, and will be consistently adhered to and implemented. They cannot and will not change. In the new era and new journey, the development prospects of the private economy are broad and promising, and it is timely for private enterprises and entrepreneurs to show their talents. We must unify our thinking, strengthen our confidence, and promote the healthy and high-quality development of the private economy. It is hoped that the majority of private enterprises and private entrepreneurs will serve the country with a heart, seek development with one mind, abide by the law and be good at business, and promote common prosperity first, so as to make new and greater contributions to promoting Chinese path to modernization.

At the symposium, six representatives of private enterprise leaders, including Ren Zhengfei, CEO of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD Co., Ltd., Liu Yonghao, Chairman of New Hope Holdings Group Co., Ltd., Yu Renrong, Chairman of Shanghai Weier Semiconductor Co., Ltd., Wang Xingxing, CEO of Hangzhou Yushu Technology Co., Ltd., and Lei Jun, Chairman of Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd., successively spoke and put forward opinions and suggestions on promoting the development of the private economy under the new situation.

  He stated that private enterprises have flourished alongside the great process of reform and opening up. For decades, the understanding of the status and role of the private economy in the reform and opening up and socialist modernization construction, as well as the policies and guidelines of the Party and the state for the development of the private economy, have been consistent and up-to-date in our Party's theory and practice. The Party and the state adhere to and improve the socialist basic economic system, unwaveringly consolidate and develop the public ownership economy, and unwaveringly encourage, support, and guide the development of the non-public ownership economy; The Party and the state ensure that all forms of ownership of the economy use production factors equally in accordance with the law, participate in market competition fairly, and receive equal legal protection, promote the complementary advantages and common development of various forms of ownership of the economy, and promote the healthy development of the non-public sector of the economy and the healthy growth of non-public sector individuals.
